DIRECTOR, QUALITY MANAGEMENT/DQM/QM
Acute Care Hospital setting, California, Central Valley
WANTED & NEEDED: Individual with extensive hospital "Quality Management" experience, to be the
new Director over the Quality Management department in a smaller Acute Care hospital setting.
If you have an RN background or other HealthCare related background and are experienced in
Quality Management and/or Performance Improvement, have in-depth knowledge of, and "hands-on"
experience, of JCAHO requirements, this Director level, opportunity, and this health provider

We want the individual that has an extensive, in-depth, QM background but even more than that,
we are looking for the individual that has the ability to see, and determine, changes, and
improvements, that should be made in addition to those that obviously need to be made and has
the managerial and leadership ability to successfully implement, and integrate, these changes
and improvements into the system.

This Director position will be on a "direct report" level to the CEO of the facility.
The location of the hospital is in the CA Central Valley area. It presents an attractive place
to live; there are numerous attractions and recreational opportunities local to the area. The
hospital is within commuting distance from parts of the Bay area, Pleasanton and San Jose.
However you might want to consider relocating as the cost of buying a home is significantly
lower than in those areas.
The position is accompanied by an excellent salary and benefits package and includes an
incentive bonus as well. Relocation package is available.
A Brief Overview of the Responsibilities of the Position
As the Quality Management Director you will:
§ Coordinate and facilitate hospital-wide quality review programs to ensure
proper adherence of JCAHO, and other regulatory requirements, for Utilization
Review, Performance Improvement, Infection Control, and Risk Management
necessary to maintain, and improve where possible, the quality of patient
§ Support ongoing quality teams, presentations to payers, investigations,
development and updating of appropriate policies and procedures.
§ Report on the performance improvement, and quality review, activities to
medical staff and governing board.
§ Coordinates and prepares documents required for regulatory agency survey
(JCAHO, HCFA, state requirements, etc.).
For this Director, QM position you should possess the following:
§ RN (BSN preferred)or other health care individual qualified by experience and
§ Previous experience in Infection Control and/or Quality Management in a
§ 3 to 5 years of relevant management experience.
§ Excellent communication and leadership skills.
§ Strong organizational skills.
§ In-depth experience, and knowledge, of JCAHO
