Position Overview:
Senior Mechanical Engineer to support development of future generation pulmonary devices.
Individual must be able to work independently with complex technical tasks and have an
analytical based approach to problem solving. Create concept ideas through an innovative and
systematic approach and demonstrate the feasibility of these by prototyping and testing. This
position will also include refinement of selected concepts into detailed mechanical design in a
group of other mechanical, electrical, and SW engineers.
Key Deliverables:
o Establishment of design inputs for next generation pulmonary device. This includes
establishment of constraints and requirements.
o Establishment of concepts for key functions of device. Conceptual layout of key device
functions and bread boarding of the most promising concepts.
o Product concept risk analysis
o Preliminary design risk analysis
Minimum Qualifications:
o BS Mechanical engineering, MS ME preferred
o 10+ years experience working with electromechanical systems, preferably in medical device
area.
o Extensive experience with design of mechanical mechanisms
o Knowledge of machining and injection molding
o FEA experience
o ProE experience preferred
o Experience with risk analysis (Hazards, FMECA, FTA)
o Good written and oral communication skills
o Innovative
o Team spirit
