This position is in Los Alamos, NM. KSL is the largest subcontractor to Los Alamos National

We're seeking an experienced professional to fill this key position. KSL is located on a 7,000
ft. mesa with exceptional schools and low crime. On summer Friday nights families bring lawn
chairs & lemonade to enjoy live music at our main community park. Winters are special with a
ski lift just 8 miles "higher"! Santa Fe, home to an amazing array of activities, events and
shopping, is a quick 40-minute drive. Albuquerque, with another tier of entertainment and
shopping, is 1.5 hrs. The annual Albuquerque Balloon Festival features every shape and size
balloon with pilots & crews floating & flying! Authentic Mexican food is around every corner
and we're brimming with art galleries and Southwestern culture.
DUTIES -- CHIEF OF STAFF
This position reports directly to the KSL General Manager and is primarily a key support role
to assist the GM in daily management and oversight of all program activities.
DUTIES -- ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
Responsible to the General Manager for oversight of Economic Development and Community
Relations. Develop and implement new business opportunities, which provide jobs for
surrounding communities. Maintain ongoing business relationships with local communities to
improve success of new businesses and support groups. Review research and feasibility studies
for developing new business opportunities. Develop and maintain contacts with state and
national businesses as well as Federal, State, and Local entities for ongoing promotion of new
business opportunities in Northern New Mexico. Develop and maintain business relationships and
interface with key stakeholders engaged in regional economic development initiatives; including
but not limited to Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) Small Business Office, LANL Community
Relations Office, Regional Developmental Corporation and Consortium of LANL Major
Subcontractors. This position is required to participate in organizations engaged in economic
development and/or small business development. Adhere to and promote Company safety, security,
environmental and other compliance requirements. Perform other duties.
� Collect data and prepare statistical reports
� Compile data and develop monthly reports
� Develop various company briefings
� Prepare media/press releases
� Make presentations to LANL and community organizations
� Maintain strong interface with each KSL division director
� Interface with internal and external executives
� Supervise the KSL Security Department and the Space/
Telecom/Records Management Department

QUALIFICATIONS (minimum education, experience, skills)
REQUIRED: BS/BA degree in associated discipline and twelve (12) years experience, including
seven (7) years
supervisory or management. Strong computer skills. Ability to obtain/maintain a Q-Clearance.
PREFERRED: Masters degree
