Geoscience Data Management Specialist  
7 years oil industry experience, Geoscience Data Model
Landmark Openworks, Geographix and Petra would be a plus
Position Description:

The position is responsible for implementing and maintaining corporate databases.  This
position will serve as the primary resource for managing and directing the data basing of all
of clients  well and seismic data   This position will work extremely close with the records
management group, the Geo-Tech�s, the Technical Studies Group and IT Geoscience support
personnel.   This is a senior level position, which will report directly to the IT manager and
be a member of the Geoscience support team.  The candidate should possess detailed knowledge of
Geoscience data models and have excellent database skills.  Knowledge of using GIS software for
managing well and seismic data is required.   A 4 year degree in Computer Science, Geoscience
(Geology or Geophysics), Math, Physics, or Engineering along with 7 years oil industry
experience is required.  In addition, experience with Landmark Openworks, Geographix and Petra
would be a plus. 

 

Assignment:

Full-time Position.

 

Technical Skills:

            Landmark Oracle experience.

            Excellent understanding of the Geoscience  data model.  

            Familiarly with ESRI products

            Proficient with SQL 

            Basic computer programming 

            Familiarity with Geoscience Corporate data management

            Project management skills

            

Critical Skills/Experience

BS in Geology, Geophysics, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics, or a related
degree 

            Extensive experience in Oil and Gas exploration 

7 years minimum Geoscience data management experience            

            Basic Programming skills, familiarity with SQL and Web Development

            Relational database experience

            Experience with building and maintaining GIS applications

            Project Management Skills

            Self directed, needs little direction.

            Strong Communication and customer service skills.

            Excellent documentation skills.

            Able to manage others through teamwork.

            Good organizational skills.

            Team Player
