The Women�s Cancers Program at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute seeks Nurse Practitioners for its
GYN and Breast Programs. The NP uses advanced skills in the evaluation, diagnosis and
treatment of patients with diseases and adverse health conditions. The NP manages therapeutic
regimens for acute and chronic problems associated with such diseases and conditions. The NP
provides anticipatory guidance, patient and family education, and psychosocial and emotional
support. The NP has prescriptive authority that includes Schedule II through V controlled
substances in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Requirements: Authorization to practice in an expanded role as a Nurse Practitioner in the
Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of
Massachusetts: satisfactory completion of formal education from NLN or CCE or ANA accredited
program for Nurse Practitioners, current certification from a nationally recognized accrediting
body approved by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing for nurse practitioners,
minimum of 24 contact hours beyond generic nursing education in pharmacotherapeutics; Master�s
Degree in Nursing; minimum of 5 years recent experience as an RN, two years experience in an
oncology or appropriate specialty, NP experience preferred, registered with the Massachusetts
Department of Public Health and holds a federal DEA number; certification in oncology nursing
preferred (OCN, AOCN, CPON). |
