We now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Finance Director in our Long Island
facility.
This key management position will be responsible for the business unit's accounting practices
and controls, maintenance of all cost accounting records, and preparation of financial reports,
forecasting, and planning.
Your responsibilities shall include:
Direct preparation of annual budgets, review budget proposals, and prepare necessary supporting
documentation. Recommend course corrections.
Complete financial analysis, Discounted Cash Flow, ROI, Make/Buy, Gross Margin and Pricing
Proposals.
Supervise general accounting, cost accounting, government compliance, customer billing and
credit and collections and accounts payable. Responsible for the integrity of the General
Ledger.
Complete monthly financial closings, forecasting and required financial reporting.
Evaluate results of operations, trends, etc. and recommend courses of action and policy changes
beneficial to the operation.
Provide technical financial advice and knowledge to others within the function and operations.
Maintain effective internal controls to ensure protection of assets and an accurate reporting
of financial position. Ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
Assist in preparation of government contract proposals and submission of cost and pricing data
Drive improvements in Working Capital.
Ensure revenue recognition compliance. Monitor accounting policy and procedures ensuring a
sound internal control environment in accordance with Sarbanes � Oxley 404 and compliance with
GAAP.
Partner with Business Unit Manager and their staff to deliver the groups goals.
We are seeking a dynamic, experienced manufacturing finance manager with a BS in Accounting
and/or Finance, an MBA and/or CPA is preferred, and ten to fifteen years progressively
responsible manufacturing finance experience in a publicly held aerospace/defense manufacturing
business with a P&L of $30 to $50 million. You must have a minimum of five years as a manager
and controller. Your background must include a strong background in GAAP, SEC Reporting and
Sarbanes-Oxley Act compliance. Government contract accounting, familiarity with Federal
Acquisitions Regulation (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) are highly desirable. You
must have developed your reputation as a strong business partner and teamplayer who is well
organized, works well with multiple tasks under pressure and is self-directed with the ability
to relate to all levels of a matrixed organization. You must have the demonstrated ability to
manage staff, set goals and objectives to meet Business Unit goals with the proven ability to
select talent and develop subordinates .A solid work ethic, strong communication, presentation,
leadership and interpersonal skills, and well developed problem-solving skills are necessary.
You must be a hands on individual with the ability to see the big picture but still have an eye
for detail. Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing Experience a plus. Your computer skills must
include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Hyperion Enterprise and Oracle experience are both a
plus.
