Job Description: Work under the supervision of the SSG Asset Manager to collect and record
serial number information from equipment located in staff's offices and work areas and to
attach asset tags on each piece of designated equipment. This includes:
* visiting each workspace and affix an asset tag onto designated equipment
* using a laptop and a hand-held scanner, scan the serial number of each PC, monitor,
workstation, etc into an application that resides on the laptop
* running a utility tool on designated PCs in order to input the serial number of the PC onto
the computer's BIOS. Required Skills: * familiarity with PCs, laptops, UNIX workstations and
their respective operating systems; 
* ability to cleanly shut down and restart a PC,laptop, UNIX workstation
* ability to follow directions
* accuracy and attention to detail - needed for the correct recording of the serial numbers
into the BIOS
* good communication - ability to ask for help when needed and communicate any difficulties
with the task at hand
* good customer service skills - will need to visit each workstation and interact with staff;
* ability to work efficiently and complete task in a timely manner
* open, cheerful, enthusiastic and helpful attitude
* quick learner, able to work independently
