The Scientific division of MedFocus is currently in need of a Microbiologist, to work for an
established pharmaceutical manufacturer in the Irvine, CA area. This is a contract opportunity
with a minimum expected length of approximately 6 months.

 

Duties:

The successful candidate will play an important role in the support of clinical supply testing
and release, product stability testing, and environmental monitoring.   The ideal candidate
will have experience in monitoring environmental microbial quality of sterility test suites and
aseptic manufacturing areas.   Day to day activities include planning, performing, interpreting
and recording results of microbiological testing, which ensures the safety and purity of the
product prior to release of the finished products to the clinical studies.   Other duties
include: designing, performing, interpreting, and recording results of investigational testing,
which provides manufacturing and R&D groups the information needed for the improvement of
corrective action.

 

Requirements:
Bachelors or Masters degree in a life science discipline

BS with 2 yrs or MS with at least internship experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry

Experience working in a highly restrictive clean room environment and in sterile clean room
garments

Proper handling, sterilizing and disposal of biohazardous materials per established procedures
is essential

 

Academic Experience is Not a Substitute for Industry Experience

Candidates without Pharmaceutical/Biotech industry experience will not be considered for this
position

Ph.D. level candidates will not be considered for this opportunity
