The work will focus on nano-oncology with a special emphasis on p53, pRb, PTEN, and other tumor
suppressor gene products delivery using nanodelivery tools including but not limited to
nanoparticle PLGA-mediated delivery. Responsibilities include developing specific upstream and
downstream assays for delivery of a wide variety of gene products and for their biological
effects both in vitro and in vivo.
Minimum requirements: The successful candidate should have at least a Master, preferably a
Ph.D., in molecular cancer biology or genetics, biochemistry or a related area of biological
sciences with 3+ years of relevant work experience in academia or biotech or pharmaceutical
companies. Strong experience in animal model work, nanotechnology platform development and
application, assay development, nucleic acid biochemistry, protein purification and
characterization is required. Hands-on experience and skills in applying modern
molecular/cellular techniques, such as RNAi, flow cytometry, primary and established cell-line
culturing including stem cells, are a plus. Proficiency in data handling with standard computer
programs is desirable. The candidate must possess a proven track record as a scientific player
within the academia or industry. This record will be the amalgam of the following: successful
project transitions and terminations, effective resource utilization, strong publications, and
demonstrated managerial and organizational skills. The ability to integrate many disciplines
and to perform collegially in a complex environment is essential. |
