Marathon Technologies is a privately held company located in Littleton, Massachusetts that
produces the industry�s most cost-effective and highly available server solutions to support
mission critical operations. 

Reporting to the VP Engineering, the Director of Engineering is responsible for planning,
organizing, and directing the design and development of software product releases, and updates
as well as the overall management and coordination of day-to-day activities of product
engineering resources including maintenance activities. The successful candidate is a hands-on
manager with a demonstrated track record of working at all levels of the software development
process. Working in consultation with marketing, sales, service, and the VP Engineering,
translates customer input and high-level requirements to establish detailed product
requirements, project plans and schedules. Moderates, monitors, and leads detailed technical
issue resolution during product development and in support of problem resolution. With the aid
of the QA manager, technical project leads, and team members, coordinates and leads efforts
towards process improvement.
Key requirements for this position include:
� BS or MS in Computer Science with 10+ years of experience in software development in with at
least 5 years experience as a manager of a software product development group
� Deep technical experience in the areas of operating systems, device drivers, networks, and
high availability systems
� Strong interpersonal skills with ability to lead and motivate employees to apply skills and
techniques to resolve problems.
� Demonstrated track record of delivering software product releases on-time and within budget.
� Experience in formal software development process methodology
� Excellent written and verbal skills
