VisEn Medical Director of Biology

VisEn Medical is pioneering the development of novel imaging agents and optical tomographic
imaging systems that enable imaging of molecular activity in animals and in humans
(www.visenmedical.com). The Company's technology platforms are now being commercialized and are
expected to have a major impact in drug development and on the detection, characterization and
treatment patterns of many different disease states.
In this position, you will responsible for managing all of the biology and pharmacology
research activities at VisEn. This position plays a strategic leadership role within the
research management team and works closely with leaders in chemistry in the design,
development, evaluation and optimization of the Company�s molecular imaging agents. This
position also plays a key role in working directly with VisEn�s pharmaceutical company partners
and customers. Responsibilities comprise biochemistry, including enzyme assays and kinetics and
novel substrate discovery technologies, cell biology focused on disease pathways, and
pharmacology. Experience in animal models of oncology, inflammation, cardiovascular, and
respiratory disease is desirable. The position is highly visible both internally and externally
and requires excellent professional, organizational, management and communication skills. The
ideal candidate will have a PhD in the biological sciences with 6-8 years of industrial
experience focused on drug discovery and pharmacology. The successful candidate must have the
ability to work independently, multi-task, and work well with a multi-disciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities/Roles
� Provide leadership for and supervise VisEn�s in vitro and in vivo biology activities to
support the development and marketing of novel molecular imaging agents. 
� Play a lead role in helping manage interactions with VisEn�s academic and pharmaceutical
customers and other scientific collaborators, including giving informational seminars,
answering scientific-related questions on VisEn�s products, and defining and implementing
collaborative R&D programs. 
� Help establish in vitro enzyme and cellular assays and animal models to characterize and
assess VisEn�s imaging agents.
� Work closely with senior management on driving VisEn�s biology programs in the context of
corporate objectives and timelines.
