What does a Regional Account Manager Do?
Currently, we are hiring new Regional Account Managers to further develop and expand our
national presence. The Regional Account Manager works out of the ComputerJobs.com corporate
office in Atlanta, Georgia and is responsible for selling Job Site Internet services to a broad
range of clients located in a specific regional location within the United States.
Account Managers achieve results through telesales efforts including:
Lead Generation
Heavy Cold Calling
Market Development
Service Selling
Contract / Price Negotiations
Client Closing
This position is a Business to Business inside telesales opportunity. In this role you will
sell Internet job advertising and resume services as well as other related job site products.
You will also establish positive client relationships and ensure a smooth transition to our
client services team.
How is this Different from other Inside Sales Jobs?
Youll be selling a tangible service, something you can easily learn and demonstrate for
others. ComputerJobs.com is the Internets leading employment web site for Information
Technology (IT) professionals and the people who hire them. Our clients purchase the ability to
post jobs for IT openings and to search an extensive database of active resumes from IT
professionals.
Youll join an established company thats been in business for over 9 years. Over 70% of our
staff has been with the company for at least 2 years. This is a startup that made it meaning
the environment is professional but still very fun, friendly, and open, but you cant bring
your dog to work. Talent in 8-ball or 9-ball is appreciated however.
Youll have the sort of initiative and work ethic that demands high earnings. Theres no
substitute for hard work, to quote Thomas Edison. Dont bother applying if you dont like
selling on the phone or if 40 work hours is your longest imaginable week.
Youll have access to an extensive internal database of leads, with monthly efforts by our
Marketing team to generate more leads for you. However, youll still have to spend time
prospecting. The more leads you generate for yourself, the better your results will be.
Your earnings potential is legitimately sky high but you must work hard to make money. (We
repeated this on purpose to weed out anyone with a lazy streak. Hard work = good results.)
Youll receive intense training and then be turned loose to sell. You will receive thorough
training, but then youll be responsible for selling. Your days will include enough structure
to keep you on target, but enough freedom to sell creatively and extensively.
Youll receive a specific geographic market assignment. You'll work in a team with team goals,
but you will get a specific market all to yourself! No channel conflicts make happier sales
people.
What are the Top Performers Earning?
Our top performers in 2004 had W2s that ranged from $80K to $100K.
Base salaries for these performers ranged from $35K to $40K.
Monthly incentive plans offer additional cash, prizes, and/or extra paid time off to top
performers.
What does the Compensation Plan Look like?
Base salary from $35K to $40K based on experience.
Monthly commissions are paid in a tiered structure against the total value of all contracts
closed in a calendar month.
Commission tiers range from 4% to 20% of all business sold in the month.
Commission payouts begin once you have sold $7,500 in total contracts each month.
Commissions are capped at $20K in commission per month.
All revenue is recognized up front for commission purposes. If you sell $20K in contracts in a
month, your commissions for that month are calculated from $20K in new business.
What do I need to do to be Successful in this Job?
You must be motivated by high earnings. If youre a sales person whos satisfied with a base
salary, this job is not for you.
You must enjoy selling on the phone and be tenacious with cold calling efforts. Actual
interaction by phone with prospects of 4 to 5 hours a day is an expectation. You must welcome
the opportunity to develop and expand untapped territories.
You must enjoy interacting with prospects virtually. Emails to clients and prospects during the
remainder of the day is an expectation. You cant always catch people on the phone or at their
desks.
You must be positive and not easily discouraged by rejection. Some days the fish dont bite.
You must be willing to work early or stay late in order to find, reach, and close prospects.
Our star sales people all share one thing in common a willingness to work hard when necessary
to close business.
You must be willing to actively learn from others. Our sales staff includes 10 people with over
5 years of selling experience with ComputerJobs. You should seek them out for advice, and then
make good use of that advice.
You must have at least 2 years of proven experience in an inside sales role. Ideally, this will
include selling in a B2B environment.
You will ideally have experience selling software, services, advertising in an online
environment.
